• 6th grade co-ed and 7th grade girls games start at 4:00pm
• 7/8th grade boys and 8th grade girls games start at approximately 5:00pm or 10 minutes after the conclusion of the previous game

VOLLEYBALL GENERAL RULES

• Games played will vary depending on home site
• Height of net must be 7 feet
• Rally scoring to 25 points win by 2 points, third set to 15 points win by 2 points
• Must win 2 out of 3 sets to win the match
• Substitutions - player for the same player only during that set
• 6th grade co-ed: 3 boys maximum on the court

Basketball Game Rules

• Games will be played back to back. 6th/7th grade will be first followed by 8th grade.
• Four seven (7) minute periods
• Five (5) timeouts total for the entire game (three full and two 30 second)
• Five (5) personal fouls results in a foul out

• Games kick off at 3:45 p.m.
• Two 30 minute halves
• Penalty Kicks will only occur during playoff games & the Championship Game after a 10 minute overtime.

The Peterson Tennis Team is co-ed and made up of students from all grade levels.

 For try-outs, bring your tennis racquet, a bottle of water, and wear appropriate clothing, including tennis/athletic shoes. 

Most matches are held at Peterson Middle School, and will run until about 6:00 p.m. Actual start time depends on when the visiting team is able to arrive at Peterson.

Tennis Players:  if you are absent on the day of a match, please contact one of the coaches and let them know so changes may be made in the line up. Thank you!

Meet Schedule:

Track meets begin at 3:30 p.m. We have a school bus taking us to the meets and bring us back to Peterson. Meets usually run until about 6:30 p.m. Parents need to arrange for rides either from the meets or you may pick up your child at Peterson if they ride the bus back to school.

Events at the meet will run in the following order:

• Field events (Triple Jump, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus) take place throughout the meet.
• 65m Hurdles
• 100m dash
• 1600 (mile run)
• 200m dash
• 400m run
• 4x100 (relay team of 4 people)
• Past meet results may be found on the Wilcox High School website, Track Link under Middle Schools.

Information about Peterson's track season: We usually have approximately 125 kids come out for track. Although there are no cuts, and every student is allowed to practice and train with the team, we are only allowed to take so many kids to the track meets. The top three (3) kids in each grade level / gender per event will be allowed to attend the meets. Example, if your student is an 8th grade boy and wants to long jump, there are probably twenty (20) 8th grade boys trying out for three (3) positions. Each athlete may only compete in three (3) events total. 

Track & Field General Rules

• Each participant is allowed to participate in 3 events.
• Each school will sign up only 3 participants to represent their school per event/grade level.
• Each school will be assigned an event to work.
